Willina Ann Kornrumpf

January 12, 1924 ~ March 3, 2018 (age 94)

Willina Ann Kornrumpf, 94 years, of Bryan, passed away Saturday night, March 3, 2018 at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center.  Willina was born January 12, 1924 in Bryan, the daughter of the late S. Ellsworth and Mertie D. (White) Bostater.  She was a WWII Navy veteran.  She married Earl A. Kornrumpf on January 20, 1945 at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida, and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1999.   She also worked at G.C. Murphy as the Downstairs Manager and Payroll, and was always a dedicated homemaker, caring for the needs of her family.  She was a member of Lick Creek Church of the Brethren, Bryan American Legion Post #284.  Willina volunteered her time as a Gray Lady at the Hospital.  Willina enjoyed oil painting, crocheting, going to garage sales and shopping.

Surviving are two sons, Larry W. Kornrumpf of Bryan and Scott Kincade of Largo, Florida; daughter-in-law, Deloris Kornrumpf of Bryan; two grandchildren, Diana (Dennis) Smith of Monroe, Michigan and Rhonda Hillard of Montpelier; six great-grandchildren, Ava, Mason and Jack Smith, Scott Hillard, Jake Beavers and Marissa Hillard; special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Han Nguyen and family of San Diego, California and Mr. & Mrs. Chan Phomavanh and daughters of Bryan.  She was preceded in death by her husband Earl, one son, Stanley Kornrumpf; five brothers, Rolland Boothman, Bud, Charles, George and William Bostater; five sisters, Virginia Mitchell, Doris Rowe, Nellie Ladd, Viola Leslie and Violeta Koch.

Visitation for Willina Ann Kornrumpf will be held from Friday, March 9, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan.  Funeral services for Willina will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 in the funeral home with Pastor Bill Holsopple officiating.  Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Bryan American Legion Post #284.
