Bernadine E. Reed, 94, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022, at The Laurels of Defiance.  She was born January 5, 1928, in Defiance, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles and Rosa (Waxler) Teeple.  Bernadine married Donald Reed on September 14, 1946, and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2018.  She worked as a homemaker, supporting her beloved husband, and raising their three beautiful daughters.  Bernadine enjoyed putting together puzzles, knitting, crocheting, and working on anything crafty.

Bernadine is survived by her three daughters, Dianna (Jim) Harrow of Cecil, Ohio, Donna (Vern) Reeb of Hicksville, Ohio, and Marsha (Dean) Wolf of Montpelier, Ohio; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; one twin sister, Geraldine Snyder of Florida; and several loving nieces and nephews.  Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Reed; two brothers; and seven sisters.

A gathering of family and friends for Bernadine E. Reed will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville.  A Celebration of Life will follow at the funeral home beginning at 2:00 P.M. with Minister Alex Heffelfinger officiating.  Internment will immediately follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.

The family requests those attending visitation or services, to please wear a mask and to observe social distancing where possible.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations or contributions be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
