July 12, 1932 – January 20, 2026
Betty J. Gloor, age 93, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Vancrest of Hicksville. Betty was born on July 12, 1932, in Briceton, Paulding County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Frederick and Leona (Zartman) Schoenauer. She was a 1950 graduate of Payne High School. Betty was employed by National Ideal Company and later retired from Dotco–Cooper Power Tools in 1987, where she worked as a purchasing agent. Following her retirement, she devoted much of her time to volunteering, serving both the American Red Cross and the Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. A devoted member of the Hicksville First Church of Christ, Betty's faith was central to her life. In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening, golfing with the Hickory Hills Ladies Golf League and serving on the Hicksville Community Service Center Board. In more recent years, she could often be found working on Sudoku and Find A Word puzzles, always keeping one close at hand. Betty also enjoyed mowing her lawn, something she did up until last year when she was 92.
Surviving is her son, Tim (Holly) Gloor of Hicksville; three grandchildren, Andrew Gloor of Portland, Oregon, Tanner Gloor of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Tia (Josh) Putt of Garrett, Indiana; four great-grandchildren, Logan Gloor, Mason, Miles and Makenzie Putt; and three sisters-in-law, Cathy Schoenauer, Mildred Schoenauer and Mary Jo Schoenauer, all of Payne, Ohio. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Terry Gloor; three brothers, Norman, Gene and Ronald Schoenauer; and one sister, Donna Foehl.
