Surviving are his two children, Clair Vollmer of Edgerton, Ohio, and Laurie (Ryan) Grube of Tipp City, Ohio; son-in-law, Shane Sumner of West Unity, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Alyssa (TJ) Smith, Abbey (Matt) Peters, Casey (Nathan) Massie, Tanner (Jazmin) Vollmer, Paige Vollmer, Brooke (Dustin) Fields, Katie (Mike) Gooslin, Emma Lehman, and Jacob Grube; 13 great-grandchildren with another one on the way; and two sisters-in-law, Brenda Goller of Chino Hills, California, and Donna Vollmer of Edgerton, Ohio.  Carl was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Janet Vollmer; beloved daughter, Tammy Sumner; and three brothers, Bob Vollmer, Eugene "Gene" Vollmer and Gerald "Mick" Vollmer.
