Carol Jane Burley, age 82, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Vancrest of Hicksville. Carol was born on March 18, 1943, in Euclid, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Strouse) Overmyer. She was a graduate of Payne High School and attended ITT Fort Wayne, where she earned a certificate as a dietary aide. Carol dedicated more than 25 years of service as a dietary aide at Community Memorial Hospital. She was a former member of St. Jacob's United Church of Christ in Payne, Ohio, where she served as church organist. Carol also enjoyed volunteering in the Community Memorial Hospital gift shop and previously served as a Girl Scout leader. Carol loved her family deeply and especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, playing the piano, singing, and completing crossword puzzles.

Surviving Carol are her three children, Todd (Gina) Burley of Williamsport, Pennsylvania; Tanda (Rajeev) Tavakley of Burnsville, Minnesota; and Tobey (Leslie) Burley of New Albany, Indiana; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, John (Juanita) Overmyer; and her sister-in-law, Jackie Overmyer. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jay Overmyer and James Overmyer; and her sister-in-law, Carole Overmyer.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 N. Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio, with funeral services beginning at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Pastor AJ Swanson officiating. Private burial will take place at Wiltsie Cemetery, Payne, Ohio.
