Cindy L. Tollas, 57, of Hicksville, Ohio, died peacefully at Parkview North Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana, on April 4, 2026, with her family by her side after a long fought battle of various illnesses. She was born Cynthia Louise Gordon to Richard "Dick" Gordon and Janet (Massie) Gordon on September 21, 1968, in Hicksville Hospital. Cindy graduated from Hicksville High School in the class of 1986. Cindy graduated with her nursing degrees from Northwest State Community College.
On September 10, 1988, she married Stephen Tollas in Grace United Methodist Church, Hicksville. Cindy became a Registered Nurse and dedicated her life caring for others for over 30 years working at Community Memorial Hospital, The Laurels, and spending the last 25 years with CHP Home Care & Hospice (previously known as Community Health Professionals). Cindy advocated for the care and dignity of her patients and their families despite her own hardships only retiring March 1st of this year. Cindy enjoyed Broadway musicals, cruising and relaxing on the beach. She also enjoyed being able to ride her bright pink bike, Jezebel, and sitting anywhere she could hear the crashing of waves. Cindy will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, daughter, sister, mother, aunt, friend, and grandmother by those who loved her most.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Stephen; her mother, Janet Gordon; her children, Scott Tollas of New Carlisle, Ohio, Lyndsey (Adam) Miller of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Brett (Alexa) Tollas of Dublin, Ohio; and the greatest joy brought into her life of a granddaughter, Harper Miller. Cindy also leaves behind her sister, Susan (Mark) Cruea of Findlay, Ohio, and brother John (Mary Ellen) Gordon of Hicksville, Ohio, and various nieces and nephews. Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Dick Gordon.
Cindy's Last Port of Call: The Bon Voyage Bash will be held May 17 at the Rotary Park Pavilion, Hicksville. Per the family's request in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Health Professionals Hospice Inpatient Center in Defiance and The James at The Ohio State University.
Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Hicksville.
