Craig E. Dawson, 75, of Harlan, Indiana, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022, in his residence.  He was born on November 20, 1946, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, son of the late Daniel and Helen (Pepe) Dawson.  Craig was a 1964 graduate of Payne High School.  He married Cheryl A. Bennett on September 16, 1972, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and she survives.  Craig worked as a Plant Superintendent and as a Process Engineer for Phelps Dodge in Fort Wayne, retiring in 2006 after 42 years of service.  He was a member of the New Haven Moose 1480, and the Payne American Legion Post 297.  In his free time, Craig enjoyed bowling, golfing, collecting stamps, and working on crossword puzzles.  He will be remembered for his green thumb, and his love of gardening and canning.

Craig is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl A. Dawson of Harlan, Indiana; three sons, Ryan Dawson of Richmond, Virginia, Rich (Heather) Dawson of Martinsville, Indiana, and Randy (Mindy Meadows) Dawson of St. Joe, Indiana; five grandchildren, Kourtney, Bailey, Madelyn, Liam, and Carter; three siblings, Bradley (Francee) Dawson of Calabasas, California, Eric (Leann) Dawson of Wolcottville, Indiana, and Lori of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

To honor Craig's wishes, no visitation or services will be held at this time.  Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio 43526.
