Daniel John Behnfeldt, born August 16, 1957, son of former area residents Ruth (Ricker) Behnfeldt and the late Marvin John Behnfeldt, baptized on August 25, 1957, returned to our Lord on All Saints Day, November 1, 2025.

Dan was an enthusiastic member of Faith Lutheran Church in Penfield, New York, for over 60 years. Born with intellectual disabilities, Dan asked little of the world, but every day contributed to it an amazing sunshine and joy from his heart. He treasured his many friendships, often spanning decades.

He was dearly loved by his family. Surviving are his mother, Ruth Behnfeldt, and sister, Carla Behnfeldt, both of Webster, New York; a brother, Stephen (Gina) Behnfeldt of Pennsylvania; a nephew and niece, Nathaniel and Juliet Behnfeldt; and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at the St. John Lutheran cemetery, 09088 Openlander Road, Sherwood, Ohio, with Pastor Eric Moquin officiating. A memorial service will follow at Faith Lutheran Church in Penfield on November 15.
