Diana was born on December 20, 1945, in Hicksville, the daughter of the late Paul and Lois (Kimpel) Battershell. She was a 1963 graduate of Hicksville High School. On July 22, 1966, Diana married Norman A. Byers in San Diego, California, and together they shared 60 years of marriage. Diana dedicated much of her life to caring for her family and took great pride in her role as a homemaker. For several years, she also worked outside the home as a bookkeeper at the former Syncro Corp. Faith was an important part of Diana’s life. She was a devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she faithfully served as Treasurer for more than 35 years and was active with the Methodist Ladies group. Diana was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a faithful servant to her church and community that she was a part of her entire life. Diana became an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, but what she loved most of all was spending time with her family.

Surviving is her husband, Norman “Norm” Byers of Hicksville; son, Neil Byers of Hicksville; six grandchildren, April (Nick) Johnson, Katelynn (Ryan) Galusha, Ty Austin Byers-Lee, Nathan Lee, Landon Lee, and Ross Lee; 3 great-grandchildren, Hailey Hubbell, Treydon Johnson and Natalia Johnson; former daughter-in-law, Susan Luderman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lois Battershell; and her son, Michael N. Byers.
