Doris M. Johns, 88, of Sherwood, Ohio passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Paulding County Hospital. Doris was born February 25, 1935, in Paulding County, Ohio, daughter of the late Guy and Flora (Thomas) Johnson. She was a 1953 graduate of Oakwood High School. Doris married Burnell D. Johns on February 12, 1960, and he preceded her in death on July 2, 2020. Doris was a Key Punch operator at Ohio Gas Company, for 20 years, retiring in January 1996. Doris was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Paulding, Ohio, where she was involved in the ladies' groups, assisted with funeral luncheons, and sang in the church choir. Doris loved her family and cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When she wasn't caring for her family, Doris could be found fishing with her husband, Burnell, or tending to her plants and flowers.

Surviving are her four children, Ron (Diane) Johns of Sherwood, Ohio, Tom (Cindy) Johns of Hicksville, Ohio, Michelle Johns of Cecil, Ohio, and Debra (Russell) Tiedemann of Beaumont, Texas; nine grandchildren, Katie (Andy) Thiel, Kara (Ryan) Miser, Kaleb (Maddy) Johns, Jarrett Carr, Jaclyn Carr, Clint, Dustin, April, and Deseraie; eight great-grandchildren, with another due in July. Doris also had three siblings, Eddie Johnson, Howard Johnson and Roberta Arnold.   Doris was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Burnell.

Visitation for Doris will be held Monday, February 12, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood with Funeral Services beginning at 1:00 p.m.in the funeral home with Pastor Charles Schmunk officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Cemetery.
