Dorothy M. Jones, 83, of Sherwood, Ohio passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, Ohio surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born May 26, 1941, in Wauseon, Ohio, daughter of the late Howard G. and Elma D. (Goldsmith) Weber. She was a 1959 graduate of Liberty Center High School. Dorothy married Tommy D. Jones in June of 1959 in Liberty Center, Ohio and they were married for 65 years until Tommy's passing on March 26, 2023. Dorothy was a true homemaker, devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Dorothy and Tommy fostered 5 children, providing them with a safe and loving home. She was known for hosting family holidays, graduation parties, and gatherings. She supported her grandchildren in piano recitals, sporting events, and truly loved being their grandma. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with Tommy. She specifically loved the mountains in Northern California. Their trips often consisted of camping in National Parks across the country.

Surviving are her three children, Phyllis (John) Stiebens of Deatsville, Alabama, Karen (David) Woodring of Sherwood, Ohio, and Mary (Bruce) Hooser of Breckenridge, Colorado; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three siblings, Lois (Dave) Costa of Auburn, Indiana, Harold Weber of Wauseon, Ohio, and Mary Lou (Charles) Hagen of Auburn, Indiana; many nieces and nephews; Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Howard Weber; mother, Elma Henderson; step-father, Dick Henderson; husband, Tommy Jones; son, Michael Jones; brother, George Weber; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Weber and Hazel Weber.

Visitation for Dorothy will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 N. Lynn Street, Bryan. A memorial service celebrating Dorothy's life will immediately begin at 12:00 noon in the funeral home with Celebrant Patricia Peter officiating.
