Edith M. Demland, age 79, of Sherwood, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Vancrest of Hicksville. She was born on April 9, 1947, in Bryan, Ohio, to the late Charles L. Hill, Sr. and Johnnella L. (Degryse) Hill. Edith graduated from Edgerton High School in 1965 and went on to further her education at Ravenscroft Beauty College. Edith married Larry W. "Chet" Demland, Sr., and together they shared many years of marriage until his passing on February 23, 2003. A dedicated and hardworking woman, Edith spent 45 years employed at The Ohio Art Company. She was a member of Farmer Center Community Church. Edith found great joy in needlework, including knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitch. She will be remembered most for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and the genuine care she showed to others. Above all, she loved her family and shared a special bond with her granddaughter, Emily.

Surviving is her daughter-in-law, Lisa Demland of Hicksville, Ohio; granddaughter, Emily Demland of Hicksville, Ohio; four siblings, Cathy (Dave) Stambaugh, Donna Gustwiller, Charles "Sonny" (Marsha) Hill, and Ted (Janice) Hill. Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry "Chet" Demland, Sr.; son, Larry Demland, Jr.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan, Ohio with Pastor Joel Hardman officiating. Services are in care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home.
