Obituary

Harweda Kay Clark, 79 years of Hicksville, passed away Monday, March 17, 2025, in her home with those she loved at her side. Kay was born June 28, 1945, in Hueysville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Warnie and Cora (Patton) Stephens. She was a 1963 graduate of Waterloo High School. She married Carl Clark on December 19, 1966, in Hicksville, Ohio, and he survives. Kay worked for Dotco as an assembler for 33 years, retiring in 2010. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Sherwood, where she was active in making noodles with the church ladies. She was also a member of the Hicksville Beautification Committee. Kay was a HUGE Chicago Cubs fan. She also found joy in gardening, caring for her flowers and hostas. She played pickleball with her friends at the park and in the Catholic Church basement. Kay enjoyed drawing and calligraphy. She loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband, Carl of Hicksville; five children, Rita (Skip Williamson) Clark of Brentwood, New Hampshire, Kristi (Matt) Arend of Hicksville, Carl Clark of Celina, Ohio, Kelly Clark of West Jefferson, North Carolina and Eric (Shelley) Clark, of Hicksville; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, she also took over as a "grandma" for many other children; six siblings, Herma (Duane) Tuttle of Auburn, Indiana, Carla Bleck of Coldwater, Michigan, Grover Stephens of Auburn, Indiana, Gary (Kari) Stephens of Quincy, Michigan, Brenda (Becum)  Davison of Auburn, Indiana, and Clint (Jeannie) Stephens of Waterloo, Indiana  She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Bertha Sexton, Melba Miller, Athna Gamble, Infant Cara Stephens and Susie Miller; four brothers, Henry Stephens, Cletus Stephens, Clayton Stephens and Willard Stephens.

Visitation for Harweda Kay Clark will be held Friday, March 21, 2025, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville. Visitation will continue Saturday, March 22, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church, 9088 Openlander Road, Sherwood from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Funeral services for Kay will be begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the church with Pastor Eric Moquin officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.

Memorial contributions can be directed to the Fort Defiance Humane Society or to Community Health Professionals Hospice.
