Irene K. Fireovid, 96 years, of Bryan, passed away at 7:15 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center, with her family at her side.Irene was born July 27, 1916 in Edon, Ohio.She was the daughter of the late Clem J. and Leah Elizabeth (Kaiser) Schieber.She was a 1933 graduate of Edon High School.Irene married John W. Fireovid on November 10, 1934 in Edon, and he preceded her in death on September 28, 1996.Irene worked as a clerk for the Williams County Recorder's Office for several years.She had previously worked at Uhlman's Department Store, Bryan, for seven years.Irene was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan where she was the church organist for 30 years.She was also active with the Esther Circle at church.Irene also volunteered at the Church Women United Thrift Store.John and Irene enjoyed traveling.They spent their winter months in Florida.


Surviving are her two sons, James A. (Jane) Fireovid of Albany, New York and Stephen J. (Michele) Fireovid of Bryan; one daughter, Kathleen (Scott) Stuart of Raleigh, North Carolina; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Fireovid of Cincinnati; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, John, one son, Melvin in August 2012, one grandson, Michael Stuart and her sister, Esteleen Archambeault in 2005.


Funeral services for Irene K. Fireovid will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 509 Center Street, Bryan with Pastor Mary Beth Smith Gunn officiating.Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery, Bryan.Visitation for Irene will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan.Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church.
