James Allen Lothamer Jr., 66 years of South Bend, Indiana, and a former longtime resident of Hamilton, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, October 30, 2025, in his home. James was born March 11, 1959, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of the late James Allen and Judy (Downing) Lothamer, Sr. He was a 1977 graduate of New Haven High School and continued his education at University of Northwest Ohio in Lima. James served our country in the United States Army until his honorable discharge. He married Virginia "Ginny" Merriman on June 22, 1984, in Van Wert, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on February 18, 2023. James was a Field Service Manager for Crown Lift Trucks for 30 years, retiring in 2023. He was a member of the Hamilton American Legion Post 467. James enjoyed hunting and fishing and even watching cartoons.

Surviving is his son, James Allen Lothamer III of Hamilton; brother, Jeff (Darlene) Lothamer of New Haven, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ginny and daughter, Megan.

To honor James's request, there will be no visitation or services. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 3985 East Church Street, Hamilton, Indiana.
