Janice L. Sweet, 58 years, of Hicksville, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Janice was born October 15, 1962, in El Paso, Texas, the daughter of Roger Corwin and Joan (Battershell) Coon. Janice was a 1981 graduate of Hicksville High School. Janice was a security guard, working at FWT in Hicksville. Prior to this, she was a caregiver for those mentally challenged. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving is her mother, Joan Coon of Hicksville; children, Cheyenne (Nicholas) Johnston of Spencerville, Indiana and Autumn (Morgan) Pettigrew of Columbia City, Indiana; three grandchildren, Scarlett, Brayden and John; two brothers, Doug (Sheri) Corwin of Defiance, Ohio and Tim Coon of Hicksville; four stepsisters; one uncle, Art (Susie) Corwin of Fort Wayne Indiana; one aunt, Gloria Volkert of Bryan, Ohio and her special friend, Chuck Starry of Antwerp, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Corwin; stepfather, Dale Coon; grandparents, Ralph and Margaret Battershell and her great aunt, Dorothy "Aunty Dot" Elliott.

To honor Janice request, there will be no visitation. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Hicksville, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to the family.
