Joanne Leffew Hootman "Jo", 84, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in her home in Hicksville, Ohio. She was born and raised in Monroe, Michigan. Jo married John Hootman, of Hicksville, in 1961. She loved to travel and to experience foreign cultures. Both of which she did extensively during her adult lifetime. She had the wonderful opportunity to experience and learn from cultures all over the world. She loved people and all things beautiful.

More than life itself, Jo loved her family. Her legacy lives on through her beloved husband, and best friend, John Hootman, son Jason Hootman, daughter Page (Brandon) Thrasher, 3 grandchildren Cassandra Blue, Nathan Hornish, and Jonathan Hornish; 4 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert and Viola Leffew, and three of her four brothers.

The services for Jo are private. The family requests in lieu of flowers, you donate to the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio.
