Keith D. Jermeay, 60, of West Unity, Ohio, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026, at CHP Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, Ohio with his family by his side. Keith was born on May 11, 1966, the son of Max Jack and Carol A. (Roy) Jermeay. He was a 1985 graduate of Hilltop High School, where he participated in football, basketball, and baseball. Keith proudly served in the United States Navy from 1985 until his honorable discharge in 1988. On May 12, 2018, he married Debra Kay Jermeay in West Unity, and she preceded him in death on February 6, 2020. Keith worked as a maintenance technician at Sauder Woodworking for 35 years. Keith enjoyed coaching youth sports, playing corn hole, and tossing horseshoes. He took pride in taking care of his lawn and liked spending time outdoors. Keith was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR.
Surviving is his mother, Carol Jermeay of West Unity; three daughters, Kayli (Wesley) Shumaker of West Unity, Autumn (Dillon) Ankney of Paulding, Ohio, and Holly (Tyler Moll) Jermeay of Lake Seneca, Ohio; seven grandchildren, MaddyLee, MaciLynn, Striker, and Walker Shumaker, Hayden and Case Ankney, and Waylon Moll; six siblings, Mark (Barb) Jermeay of Ney, Ohio, Dawn (Keith) Jones of West Unity, Crystal Hamp of West Unity, Hank Jermeay of West Unity, Lisa Woodring of West Unity and Jackie Jermeay of West Unity; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Keith was preceded in death by his father, Max Jack Jermeay; and by his wife, Debra Kay Jermeay.
Visitation for Keith will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, Ohio. Funeral services for Keith will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, in the funeral home with Jeff Crisenbery officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity, with military graveside rites accorded by West Unity American Legion Post 669.
Memorial contributions can be directed to Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance or Living Hope Free Methodist Church.
