Obituary

Kevin A. Myers, 66, of Hicksville, peacefully passed away Friday, August 21, 2026, in his residence surrounded by his loving family. Kevin was born on February 3, 1960, in Hicksville, Ohio, the son of the late Glenn Arthur and Karen Pauline (Burley) Myers. Kevin graduated from Hicksville High School in 1978, and enlisted in the United States Army, attaining the Rank of Staff Sergeant, until his honorable discharge on April 30, 1999. He married Susie Munoz on July 2, 1984, in Reno, Nevada, and she survives. After his discharge, Kevin received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana Tech. He was a supervisor for Heidtman Steel for 15 years. He then worked in Environmental Health and Safety for Federal Mogal, Clarios, Parkview Hospital and Mobex. He was a member of the Harlan Church of Christ and the Hicksville Eagles Aerie 2556. In his free time, Kevin enjoyed hunting, fishing, writing poetry and exploring History. He had the mind of an entrepreneur, always searching for ways to better provide for his family. While living in California, Kevin received a walk-on role in the The Winter of Our Discontent starring Donald Sutherland.

Surviving is his wife, Susie of Hicksville; two sons, Maximo Ernest (Jessica) Myers of Hicksville, and Quentin Glenn Myers of Hicksville; two grandsons, Jerry Myers and Desmond Myers; six siblings, Kelly (Douglas) Jones, Koreen (Barry) Sleesman, Keresha (Richard) Garrett, Jody Puffenberger, Robert Myers and Tim Myers; his surviving aunt, Linda (Lynn) Battershell. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Ernest and Eunice Burley, Walter and Helen Myers; sister, Kay Sowers; brother, Kurt Myers; Niece, Alesha Govin; two nephews, Richard Govin Jr, and Ryan Sowers.

Visitation for Kevin A. Myers will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville. Funeral services for Kevin will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, in the funeral home with Dave Atchley Jr., officiating. There will be an additional hour of visitation at the funeral home prior to the start of the funeral. Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville, where Military Rites will be accorded by the combined honor detail from the Hicksville American Legion Post 223, Farmer American Legion Post 137, and Sherwood VFW Post 5665.
