Lamberto R. Castillo, 72, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Lamberto was born July 17, 1952, in Soto La Marina, Tamaulipas, Mexico, son of the late Dionicio and Maria (Rubio) Castillo.  He married Esperansa C. "Hope" Ortiz on May 28, 1982, in Hicksville, and she survives.  Lamberto worked in maintenance at Crook-Miller Handle Company until their closure.  He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Hicksville, and a former member of the Hicksville Eagles Aerie #2556.  Lamberto enjoyed being outdoors tending to his flower and vegetable gardens, with a specialty for growing a variety of peppers.  He loved taking naps, buying lottery tickets and spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren with dollar bills and ice cream whenever he had the opportunity.

Surviving is his wife, Hope Castillo of Hicksville; six children, Melissa (Mike Crawford) Castillo of Hicksville, Delores Esquivel of Sherwood, Ohio, John Esquivel of Fort Wayne, Rudy (Erica) Esquivel of Auburn, Indiana, Floyd Esquivel of Hicksville, and Monica (Bradley) Myers of Fort Wayne; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six siblings.  Lamberto was preceded in death by his parents; and two siblings.

Visitation for Lamberto R. Castillo will be held Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 2:00 – 6:30 P.M. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio, with recitation of the Rosary beginning at 6:30 P.M.   A Mass of Christian Burial for Lamberto will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 100 Antwerp Drive, Hicksville, Ohio, with Father Andrew Wellmann officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
