Lawrencee P. “Lon” Jones, 74 years of Hicksville, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Lonnie was born June 17, 1951, in Hicksville, Ohio, the son of the late Paul L. and Mary Ann (Morton) Jones. He was a 1969 graduate of Hicksville High School. He continued his education at the University of Toledo. Lonnie most recently worked as a tow motor operator in Kendallville Printing. Prior to this he worked at B.F. Goodrich, Detrich Industries, Parker-Hannifin as a laborer. He was a member of the NRA, and a former member of the Sons of the American Legion. Lonnie loved to hang out with his friends, fishing, ride his motorcycle, and was an expert mushroom hunter, never revealing his favorite locations. He had a big heart and always roasted a hog for his nieces and nephews’ graduation celebrations. He also attended his nephew’s college ball games at Ferris State.

Surviving is his siblings, Rob (Patti) Jones of Hicksville, Reggie (Lindsey) Kees of Hicksville, Paula (Cork Poth) Miller of Hicksville, Monica (Michael) Mies of Lancaster, South Carolina, and Sandra (Bill) Dum of Hicksville, along with many nephews, nieces, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

To honor Lonnie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services at this time. A Celebration of his life will be held in the fall. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Hicksville.
