Lewis L. Wonderly, age 90, of Hicksville, Ohio passed away at Vancrest of Hicksville, surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 13, 2026. Lewis was born on October 13, 1935, in Hicksville, Ohio, son of the late Lloyd E. and Ila J. (Sholl) Wonderly. He was a 1953 graduate of Hicksville High School. On June 27, 1953, he married Donna Hissong and they enjoyed 73 years of marriage this past June. Lewis retired from International Harvester. He had previously worked at Thornburg Plumbing and Irving Redi-Mix. He was a member of the Hicksville First Church of Christ. Lewis enjoyed golfing, woodworking and bowling. He built two homes for his daughter Twyla, and the second house on Lake Road, and he also built a barn.

Surviving is his wife, Donna Wonderly of Hicksville, Ohio; four children, Twyla (Jeff) Thiel of Hicksville, Ohio, Jeff (Jamie) Wonderly of Perrysburg, Ohio, Renee Hopper of Defiance, Ohio, and Chad (Carleen) Wonderly of Dunedin, Florida; Seven grandchildren; 11great-grandchildren. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lewonna; son-in-law. Mark Hopper; three sisters, Leila Hook, Joyce Hart, Rachel Fritz; five brothers, Kenneth Wonderly, Jim Wonderly, Donal Wonderly, Glen Wonderly, and Phil Wonderly.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Forest Home Cemetery with Pastor Eric Bass officiating. Services are in care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Hicksville.

Memorial contributions in memory of Lewis L. Wonderly may be given to Hicksville First Church of Christ.
