Lina Jane Geren, 103, of Bryan, Ohio passed away Friday, April 14, 2023, at Fountain Park Assisted Living, Bryan.  Lina was born March 19, 1920, near Kunkle, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles and Pearl (Hutchison) Shaffer.  She married Wilbur Geren on March 28, 1938, and he preceded her in death on April 15, 1993.  Lina was employed by the former Holabird Corporation for 25 years, retiring in 1992. In her free time, Lina enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, and completing crossword puzzles.

Surviving are her two children, Edward Geren of Bryan, Ohio, Earl (Elnor) Geren of Montpelier, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Pierce of Montpelier, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur; two sons, Russell Rose and Reo Geren; daughter, Donna Fogle; six brothers and three sisters.

Visitation for Lina will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, from 10:00a.m. -12:00 noon at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, where funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Elara Caring Hospice.
