Bryan Dateline February 27, 2006 Madonna Kathryn (Burkmire, Coy) Stratton, age 90, of Martinsville, IN, a former Bryan residence for over 60 years, passed away February 26, 2006 of natural causes at her residence. Mrs. Stratton retired from Knox Laundry and also worked at McBride Laundry, the Pastime, Ketch-a-Bite and Holabird Industries, all of Bryan before her retirement.She enjoyed walking to town, taking her grandchildren and great grandchildren to the Jubilee and the fair. Born in Trumbull County, Ohio on December 30, 1915, Mrs. Stratton was the daughter of Suzanna (Roland) and Albert Burkmire.She was married to Clyde Stratton on December 5, 1973 and he preceded her in 1980. Surviving Mrs. Stratton is one daughter, Mrs. Anna Mae (Jerry) Brust of Paragon, Indiana; three granddaughters, Mrs. Brian (Ann Moor) Martin of Martinsville, Mrs. Daulfus (Sabrina Brust) Wood of Martinsville, Indiana and Mrs. Tina (Ralph)McClusky of Martinsville, Indiana, nine great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren; and two expected great great grandchildren. Also preceding Mrs. Stratton, in addition to her parents and husband, was her former husband, Clinton Albert Coy; her brothers and sisters, Colletta Ankey, William (Bill) Burkmire, Bernard Burkmire, Clerance Burkmire, Gertrude Burkmire, Richard (Dick) Burmire, Celestian (Fuzzy) Burkmire, and Lauretta Friedel. Funeral Services for Mrs. Madonna Stratton will be Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home-Bryan with Pastor Adam Varnell of the Spirit of Life, Martinsville, Indiana officiating.Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance, OH. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral services. Gifts in loving memory of Mrs. Madonna Stratton are requested to the Leukemia Fund or the Alzheimer's Association.
