Marilyn L. Grimm, 86, of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Lakeland Rehab and Healthcare Center, Angola, Indiana. Marilyn was born October 24, 1939, in Paulding County, Ohio, daughter of the late Seth S. and Mary Jane (Frost) Salisbury. She attended Farmer High School and then married John J. Grimm on May 7, 1960, in Sherwood, Ohio, and he survives. Marilyn was a wonderful homemaker, supporting John and raising their three children. She worked at Commercial Shearing in Hicksville while the kids were in school, before returning to being a homemaker. Marilyn was a former member of the West Milford Church of Christ in Hicksville until they built their house and moved to Pleasant Lake. She was an avid reader and a talented crafter, quilter and embroiderer, and was a member of a crafting and quilting group made up of friends and relatives. Marilyn also enjoyed wintering in Sebring, Florida with John for many years.
Surviving is her husband, John J. Grimm of Pleasant Lake, Indiana; three children, Shawn (Fred) Rayle of Butler, Indiana, Wanda (Richard) Schroeder of Hamilton, Indiana, and John J. (Patti) Grimm II of Churubusco, Indiana; six grandchildren, Brooke Rayle, Matthew (Francis) Rayle, Shellene Clements, Colton Schroeder, Jacob Grimm and Joshua Grimm; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Harold Salisbury and Walter Salisbury.
Visitation for Marilyn L. Grimm will be held Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio 43526. A Memorial Service will immediately follow in the funeral home beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Scott Ailes officiating.
