Martha J. Smith, 82, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance.  Martha was born February 15, 1940, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter of the late Ray W. and Ann (Hulderman) Tracy.  She was a 1958 graduate of Antwerp High School.  Martha married Loren L. Smith on April 23, 1960, in Antwerp, and he preceded her in death on April 12, 2019.  She worked as an LPN throughout the area for multiple healthcare and home health services.  Martha was a devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Hicksville, where she was active with the Ladies of Trinity and participated in multiple Bible studies.  In her free time, she enjoyed camping, playing cards, and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren.

Martha is survived by her four children, Dave (Beth) Smith of Strongsville, Ohio, Jeff (Lisa) Smith of Carmel, Indiana, Dan (Chanda) Smith of Bluffton, Ohio, and Sodie (Tracey) Warren of Archbold, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sue (Larry) Jump of Antwerp.  Martha was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren; an infant son, Douglas; and one brother, Kelly Tracy.

Visitation for Martha J. Smith will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 2:00 – 6:00 P.M. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville.  Funeral services for Martha will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, in the funeral home with Pastor David Yinger officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
