Mary Ellen Ringenberg, 106, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Vancrest of Hicksville.  Mary was born March 25, 1916, in Antwerp, Ohio, daughter of the late Henry N. and Bertha (Gerken) Seslar.  She married Herbert W. Ringenberg on March 20, 1942, in Pioneer, Ohio, and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage, until his passing on December 18, 2008.  Over the years, Mary worked as a homemaker, supporting her husband on their farm, raising their three children, and serving the changing needs of their family.  Mary was a member of North Scipio United Methodist Church, Harlan, Indiana, Order of the Eastern Star, and the All-Together Club.  In her retirement years, she and Herbert enjoyed wintering in Leesburg, Florida, for 16 years.  Mary lived a long, and fulfilling life, and cherished the time spent with her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her three children, Bruce (Martha) Ringenberg of Hicksville, Cheryl (Charles) Unger of Harlan, and Janis (Marv) Edwards of Hicksville; 10 grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.  Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert; and a half-brother, Richard Seslar.

Visitation for Mary Ellen Ringenberg will be held Monday, January 2, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at North Scipio United Methodist Church, 23628 IN-37, Harlan, Indiana 46743.  Funeral services for Mary will immediately follow in the church starting at 1:00 P.M. with Pastors Keith Schreffler and Matt Bock officiating.  Interment will follow in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan.
