MeLinda N. Hilty, 72, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025, in her residence with her family by her side.  MeLinda was born December 10, 1952, in Decatur, Indiana, daughter of the late Noah L. and Elizabeth (Eicher) Schwartz.  She married Jacob M. Hilty on March 10, 1974, in Adams County, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on April 16, 2010.  Melinda worked as a homemaker, tending to the needs of their six children, and cleaned homes for numerous friends in the community.  She was a dedicated member of the West Milford Church of Christ.  MeLinda enjoyed watching birds – especially hummingbird, tending to her beautiful flowerbeds and spoiling her grandchildren.  She was also a talented cook and baker and made the best cookies.

Surviving are her six children, Alan (Khristina) Hilty of Hicksville, Larry (Carrie) Hilty of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Pete (Megan) Hilty of Leo, Indiana, Leon (Mackenzie) Hilty of Cecil, Ohio, Lynn (Emmalee) Hilty of Woodburn, Indiana, and Laura (Rhett) Eicher of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 15 grandchildren; and six siblings.  MeLinda was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband, Jacob Hilty.

Visitation for MeLinda N. Hilty will be held Friday, June 27, 2025, from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street Hicksville, Ohio 43526.  Funeral services for MeLinda will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. the Hicksville First Church of Christ, 118 North Main Street with Pastor Dan Grant officiating.  There will be an additional hour of visitation prior to the start of the funeral on Saturday.  Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
