Michael "Mike"
A. Sheeran
March 26, 1948 – January 20, 2026
Michael "Mike" Anthony Sheeran, age 77, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on January 20, 2026, in Bryan. Mike was born on March 26, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Dr. Emmet Sheeran and Janet (Wade) Sheeran. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia (Smith) Sheeran, and his brothers, Emmet Sheeran Jr. (the late Rita Sheeran) and Patrick Sheeran.
He is survived by his three daughters, whom he loved deeply: Christy Phillips (Gene), Lory Sheeran Winland (Scott Fisher), and Stacy Lenczowski (Jeff). Mike was a proud grandfather to Ronan and Roark, Cate and Ellie, and Jack and Brynn, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Ann Flynn (Errol), Kathy Brown (Randy), and Nancy Dana (the late Randy Dana and fiancé Dan Hannon), as well as many nieces and nephews whom he cherished.
Mike graduated from St. Wendelin High School in Fostoria, Ohio, in 1966 and from St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Indiana, in 1970. He married Patricia "Pat" Smith on July 6, 1973, in Bowling Green, Ohio, and together they built a life centered on family.
Mike began his career as a bank examiner and later served for many years as Vice President of First National Bank in Bryan. He went on to become the owner and broker of Coldwell Banker Classic Properties, where he worked for over 30 years. Mike loved helping people and formed lasting relationships with his clients. He kept letters from those he helped—letters thanking him for his kindness, for believing in them, and for helping them during difficult times.
A dedicated servant to his community, Mike was involved with numerous organizations, the Bryan Development Foundation (where he served as a board member for nearly 50 years), Cancer Assistance of Williams County, Toys for Tots, the Williams County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and Northwest Ohio Affordable Housing (NOAH). He generously volunteered his time, talents, and energy to the Bryan community throughout his life.
Mike enjoyed golfing with his friends, especially during his regular trips to Tennessee. He was passionate about family history, proud of his Irish heritage, and a lifelong Notre Dame fan. He loved photography and especially treasured taking photos while traveling in Ireland with his sisters.
Above all, Mike cherished time with his grandchildren—fishing with hotdogs, geocaching, watching football, playing pool, riding roller coasters, flying kites, and telling silly jokes. His greatest joy was seeing his daughters happy. Mike will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family and community. He leaves behind a legacy of service and love that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation for Mike will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 noon at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 610 S. Portland Street, Bryan. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 noon in the church with Fr. Andrew Wellmann officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan.
