Peggy A. Hayward, 88, of Hamilton, Indiana, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, in her residence.  Peggy was born April 2, 1935, in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, daughter of the late Leland and Alberta (Thatcher) Darling.  She attended Mount Pleasant High School.  Peggy married Jack L. Hayward in 1986, in Mount Pleasant, and he preceded her in death in 1991.  She was a homemaker, supporting the needs of her growing family.  Peggy enjoyed tending to her flower beds, cooking, baking, and hanging out with her dog, Buddy.

Peggy is survived by her six children, Shelly Myers of Hamilton, Judy Cotterman of Indianapolis, Indiana, Roger Myers of Butler, Indiana, Robert Myers of Butler, Indiana, Donald (Deb) Myers of Cromwell, Indiana, and Dennis Myers of Hamilton; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Jack; a daughter, Catherine Charlton; four brothers, Donald Darling, Jack Darling, Richard Darling, and Francis Darling; and six sisters, Velma Mulliken, Donna Grace, Betty White, Letha Wolfe, Ruth Jones and Barb Esch.

Private burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, Michigan.  Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 3985 East Church Street, Hamilton, Indiana.
