Robert A. "Bob" Brickel Jr., 71, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 10, 2025.  Bob was born July 4, 1953, in Hicksville, Ohio, son of the late Robert A. and Ruth M. (Weber) Brickel Sr..  He was a 1971 graduate of Hicksville High School.  Bob married Dorothy J. Thompson on July 20, 1973 in Antwerp, Ohio, and she survives.  He worked as a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker at Parker-Hannefin for over 25 years, retiring in 2019.  Bob was a avid NASCAR fan, rooting on Bill Elliot and his son Chase Elliot.  In his younger years, he enjoyed camping and fishing in Coldwater, Michigan.

Surviving is his wife, Dorothy J. Brickel of Hicksville; two siblings, Dianne Witmer of Leo, Indiana, and William "Bill" (Pat) Brickel of Harriman, Tennessee; a niece, Jade (Clint) Delagrange of Leo, Indiana; a nephew, Tyler (Randa) Witmer of Leo, Indiana; a great-niece, Adessa Witmer; and a great-nephew, Boone Delagrange.  Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and by a brother-in-law, Cliff Witmer.

Visitation for Robert A. "Bob" Brickel Jr. will be held Monday, January 20, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville.  Funeral services for Bob will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the funeral home.  There will be an additional hour of visitation prior to the start of the funeral on Tuesday.  Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
