Obituary

Robert Lee "Bob" Sito, age 83, of Tampa, Florida, and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Bob was born on February 7, 1943, in Bryan, Ohio, to the late Stephen and Hazel (Horvath) Sito. He was a 1961 graduate of Edgerton High School. Following graduation, he attended the University of Dayton to study Civil Engineering and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War until receiving an honorable discharge. Bob dedicated most of his career to the United States Postal Service, retiring in 2010. He was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan and a member of the Knights of Columbus, among other organizations. He enjoyed living life to the fullest and was always on the go. As an avid golfer, Bob found great joy on the golf course, where he cherished both the game and the friendships it brought. Even after a stroke in 2015 affected his ability to speak, Bob became a beloved presence at Ashton Creek in Fort Wayne. After moving to Florida, he spent his days waving hello to neighbors and giving thumbs up to passing drivers; he became a cherished fixture in the community, with people stopping by just to say hello. Throughout his life, Bob had a gift for bringing smiles and laughter to everyone he met.

Surviving are his two daughters, Stephanie (Robert Harvey III) Sito of Tampa, Florida and Shannon (John) Forsythe of Auburn, Indiana; four Grandchildren, Ryan McConnell, Kennedy Staley, Violet Forsythe, Sullivan Forsythe; three siblings, Steve (Bonnie) Sito; Mark (Cathy) Sito, and Aaron (Rita) Sito. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and granddaughter, Phoebe Forsythe.

Visitation for Bob will be held Friday, August 14, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 N. Lynn Street, Bryan. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 300 South Michigan Avenue, Edgerton, Ohio with Fr. Sahaya Clement officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Edgerton, Ohio with military rites accorded by combined honor guard Bryan American and Bryan VFW. Celebration of life will follow at Bryan’s Fraternal Order of Eagles, 221 South Walnut Street, Bryan Oh 43506.
