Ronald Lynn Sweet , 54, of Hicksville, passed away peacefully at Parkview Hospice Care on Wednesday, August 9 at 10 p.m.

Ron was born to Wayne L. and Martha E. (Timbrook) Sweet on November 22, 1962 at Hicksville Community Memorial Hospital. He graduated from Hicksville High School in 1981.

Ron was a former employee at Trident Corporation. He was a member of the Hicksville Eagles and a frequent visitor of the Hicksville American Legion.

Ron enjoyed cheering on the late Dale Earnhardt and the Washington Redskins football team. He enjoyed family holidays and talking to his brothers and nephews about sports. Ron also loved listening to classic rock and was an avid reader.

Ron is survived by his parents, siblings: Robert (Sharon) Sweet, Nancy (Tim) Sweet-Holp and Randy (Cynthia) Sweet; nephews: Austin (Caty) Sweet, Jacob Sweet; and nieces: Adrienne Sweet, Aimee (Devon) Wulff, and great-nieces, Kaelyn Wulff and Bryleigh Sweet.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Ralph and Mary (Slattery) Timbrook, and Harold and Mildred (Ruppert) Sweet.

Funeral services for Ron will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Smith and Brown Funeral home, Hicksville with Father Fred Duschl officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 to 6:00 at the funeral home, with an Eagles service at 5:30.

Burial will be in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan, Indiana.
