Ruth Ann Blue, age 87, of Bryan, Ohio peacefully passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance surrounded by her family.
Ruth Ann was born on June 24, 1938, in Defiance, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Lewis and Vivian (Baum) Gibler. She was a graduate of Ayersville High School and continued her education at Lakeside Bible College. Ruth Ann married James Blue on January 10, 1959. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1981. She was a devoted employee at Allied Moulded Products for many years. Ruth Ann was a member of the Defiance Historical Society; volunteered at Auglaize Village – Part of the 38th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Blackpowder Regiment; advisor- Explorer post at Auglaize Village; Sherwood Girl Scouts Brownie Troop Leader; Central Local Girl Scout Troop Organizer; member and past-president of XL Homemakers Club; 4-H Club member; volunteered at the Bryan Thrift Shop; volunteered at Faith in Action. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting and flower gardening.
Surviving are four daughters, Darlene Martin of Montpelier, Ohio, Angela (Jeff) Zimmerman of Hicksville, Ohio, Sara (Craig) Filley of Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Lisa (Mark McGuire) Blue of West Unity, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, Robert (Pam) Gibler and Gary (Jane) Gibler. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Blue; daughter, Annette Blue.
Visitation for Ruth Ann will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 N. Lynn Street, Bryan. A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Ayersville Cemetery, Ayersville, Ohio with Pastor Jack Teeple officiating.
