Shannon JoAnne Metz, 81, of Hicksville, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Vancrest of Hicksville. Shannon was born January 21, 1942, in Hicksville, Ohio, daughter of the late Clyde and Zoa (Kelly) Killian. She was a 1960 graduate of Hicksville High School. Shannon married David A. Metz on June 10, 1962, in Hicksville, Ohio. She previously worked at Chicago Motor Club, Joann's Dress Shop, Hilbert Eye Care and Community Memorial Hospital, until her retirement in 2003. She was a loving and supportive wife and mother, always taking care of her family. Shannon was an active member of Cornerstone Church, Hicksville. Above all, Shannon cherished spending time with her family and supporting them in their activities.

Surviving is her loving husband, David Metz of Hicksville, Ohio; two daughters, Lisa (Mark) Savage of Hicksville, Ohio, and Lori (Greg) Hall of Auburn, Indiana; five grandchildren, Abby (Alex) Nafziger, Emily (Mitchell) Weatherhead, Caleb (Sidney) Savage, Brennan Bolen, and Baleigh Bolen; 10 great-grandchildren, Tatum, Lincoln, Olive, Gracie, Lenna, Graham, Mack, Kleo, Leland, and Hallie. Shannon was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Duane Killian.

Visitation for Shannon will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Cornerstone Church, 232 West Arthur Street, Hicksville, Ohio, with Pastor AJ Swanson officiating. Interment will follow at Six Corners Cemetery, Hicksville, Ohio. Visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral at the church on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
