Obituary

Marylee Sue Hissong, 76, of Hicksville passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021, at Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville. Sue was born December 19, 1944, in Wise, Virginia, the daughter of the Merlin and Maggie (Parks) Collins. She married Jerry L. Hissong on June 19, 1961, and he preceded her in death on April 2, 2017. Sue worked at Bargain Box, the Whole Sale House, High Lanes, and the Crook-Miller Handle Factory. She attended Family Christian Center, Defiance. Sue enjoyed gong with her husband, Jerry to flea markets, bowling, and camping. She especially cherished spending time with her children and family.

Surviving are two children, Tina (Dave Hafner) West of Hicksville, Ohio, and Rodney (Mindi) Hissong of Butler, Indiana; four grandchildren, Rod, Marley, Rachel, and Robert; seven great-grandchildren, Destany, Alex, Jade, Kylee, Ashley, Vanessa, and Maddix; sister, Lola (Bill) Conrad; five brothers, Paul Collins, Jim Collins, Ted (Marilyn) Collins, Carl (Elda) Collins and Chuck Collins; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Marsha Korff. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; five brothers, Lawrence "Bill" Collins, Joe Collins, Lloyd Collins, Lester Collins and Jerry Richard Collins.

To honor Sue's wishes there will be no services at this time. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville.
