Sue A. Sutherland, 74, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Sue was born on March 22, 1952, in Bryan, the daughter of the late Lester D. and Mary A. (Fox) McClellan. She was a 1970 graduate of North Central High School. On November 27, 1993, Sue married Robert L. Sutherland at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Bryan, and they enjoyed nearly 30 years together until his passing on October 15, 2022. Sue dedicated over 27 years of service as a Program Technician with the USDA Farm Service Agency, retiring in 2016. She was a member of the Farmer Center Church in Farmer, Ohio. In her free time, Sue enjoyed gardening (which was also instilled in her children), going for long walks, and rooting on the Ohio State Buckeyes and Appalachian State Mountaineers football teams. She also had a special fondness for miniature schnauzers and owned many over the years. Above all, Sue cherished time spent with her family, especially her four grandchildren.
Surviving are her four children, Ryan (Heather) Smith of Bryan, April (Casey Downing) Smith of Evansport, Ohio, Karyn Sutherland of Wisconsin, and Kelley (Larry) Wade of Lake Villa, Illinois; four grandchildren, Kammie Wade, Darryl Paulus, Lester Smith and James Smith; two brothers, Ronald (Sally) McClellan of Pioneer, Ohio, and Mark McClellan of Cincinnati, Ohio; and two sisters, Jeanne (Michael) Belth of Huntington, Indiana, and Judy (Brett) Potter of Thompson, Pennsylvania. Sue was proceeded in death by her parents; and by her husband, Robert L. Sutherland.
Private burial will take place in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, Ohio 43506.
