Timmy J. Barker, 73, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance. Tim was born September 23, 1951, in Hicksville, Ohio, son of the late Joseph B and Helen V. (Hill) Barker. He attended Antwerp High School, graduating in 1970. Tim married Julie J. Sprow in September 1984 in Antwerp, Ohio and she preceded him in death on June 11, 2022. Tim worked as a custodian at Antwerp Local Schools for 20 years and was a lifelong farmer. In his later years, he enjoyed taking routine visits to the farm. In his free time, Tim loved mowing, hunting and fishing.

Tim is survived by two brothers, Joseph H. (Barbara) Barker of Antwerp, Ohio, and Thomas E. Barker of Cochran, Georgia; niece, Kristi O'Shaughnessey of Hicksville, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; great-niece "adopted granddaughter", Johanna O'Shaughnessey of Hicksville, Ohio; sister-in-law, Penny Timbers. Tim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Julie; sister, Neva Jo Cromwell.

Visitation for Tim will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. – 11:30 a.m. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville, Ohio.  Funeral services will immediately follow in the funeral home beginning at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Rick Grimes officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance.
