Timothy D. Gearhart, 75, of Mark Center, Ohio, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tim was born on April 26, 1951, in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Omar A. Gearhart and Edith H. Hicks. He grew up in Chicago where he learned the trade of lithography, skilled printmaking. Tim was a life-long lithographer, retiring from JY Design & Print in Garrett, Indiana. On September 8, 1979, he married Linda K. Brown at Olive Branch Church of God in Defiance, Ohio, by Reverand Ned Speiser. Tim was a huge Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan, and also enjoyed camping, playing cards and games, supporting his granddaughter Elliot in her sporting and academic events, and more importantly spending time with his family.
Surviving is his wife, Linda Gearhart of Mark Center, Ohio; three children, Amanda (Tim) Wheeler of Sherwood, Ohio, Derek Gearhart of Defiance, Ohio, and Beth Little of Napoleon, Ohio; five grandchildren, Elliot Gearhart, James (Jon) Little, Andrew (Shelbi) Little, Megan Little and Connor Larimer; one great-grandson, Matthew Little; mother, Edith Greco of Defiance, Ohio; and by his two siblings, Diane Alexander of Minnesota, and Jeffery (Terri) Greco of Rockford, Illinois. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Omar Gearhart.
Visitation for Timothy D. Gearhart will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 2:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood, Ohio 43556. Funeral services for Tim will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Doseck officiating. There will be an additional hour of visitation prior to the start of the funeral on Wednesday. Burial will follow in Sherwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the family.
