William "Bill" Laney, 62, of Hicksville, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville with his family by his side. Bill was born May 15, 1959 in Antwerp, Ohio, son of the late James E. and Olive J. (Swan) Laney. He was known by his family for having a loving heart. He enjoyed working on cars with his nephew, Nick Laney, and spending time with his nephew, Billy Laney, scrapping metal and fixing mowers. He loved cooking as well as driving his 1962 Oldsmobile. Any free time Bill had he tried to spend with his great nieces and nephew, Kerri Ann Fredricks, Cassandra Fredricks, and Brian Fredricks.

Bill is survived by four brothers, Larry, Don, Ken, and Dan Laney; two sisters, Doris Clemens and Jean Robinson. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Jack, Richard, James Jr., Robert, George, and Ron Laney; three sisters, Betty Williams, Mary Smith, and Carolyn "Sue" Mansfield.

To honor Bill's wishes there will be no visitation or services held. Arrangements are in care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville.
