Jennifer L. McCreight, 52, passed away on Monday, July 30th, at 12:52 a.m. after spending her 52nd birthday at the Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, rural Defiance. Jennifer went peacefully to the arms of her Lord. She had been diagnosed with terminal cancer in May of this year.

Jennifer was born July 29th, 1960 in Defiance Ohio to Rose (McCarthy) and Gerald Hanna.She was a 1978 graduate of Tinora High School; she also attended Northwest State Community College and completed the STNA course.She was employed for many years at Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in dietary, housekeeping and as a secretary for home health and occupational therapy.She also worked for North West Ohio Computer Association, Campbell Soup and most recently at Woolace Electric Company.She volunteered for the Alter Rosary Society of St. Isidore Parrish catering alongside lifelong friends Suzy Kline and Cindy Siler.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Hanna and was a devoted caregiver for her mother Rose Hanna, and her 101 year old grandmother Willa Hanna.Jennifer will be sadly missed by her son Kris (Rachel Lonchar) McCreight, Submariner for the U.S Navy residing in Paulsboro, Washington and Daughter, Tara (Jason) Cromwell, Director of Childcare at the YMCA of Lenawee County residing in Jerome, Michigan;. Three sisters, Mary Chapman, of Ney, Ohio, Rebecca Hanna of Blueridge, Georgia and Amy Kolb of Evansport, Ohio.

Jennifer was a fun loving and energetic grandmother of granddaughter Brooke McCreight and grandson Cooper Cromwell with the addition of another grandson expected in mid August on the Cromwell side.

Jennifer enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing bingo, swimming, cooking, reading, and playing cards. She was affectionately known for her giving nature, her sincere listening skills, generosity of her time and thoughtfulness for others.
A memorial service and dinner in celebration of Jennifer's life will be held on Thursday, August 2nd at St. Isidore at Marysdale CatholicChurch on State Route 15 in Defiance, Ohio. From 3:00 pm-6:00 pm.
