William “Bill” Beatty Sr., 78 years, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Bill was born November 16, 1941 in Lansing, Michigan, the son of the late Dudley Beatty and Francis (Beak) Bailey. He was a 1959 graduate of Coldwater High School in Coldwater, Michigan. Bill proudly served our country in Vietnam as a United States Marine. In August of 1991, he was united in marriage to Patricia Evans and she survives. Bill worked as a machinist at Universal Tool and Die in Butler, Indiana for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed playing pool and watching the Detroit Lions football team.
Bill is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Jean (Rick Koiser) Beatty of Montpelier, Ohio, William Beatty Jr. of Auburn, Indiana, Kim Beatty of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Candy Salisbury of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Catherine Tarrent of Garrett, Indiana, Angel (Todd) Lothamer of Grabill, Indiana, Dave (Jenny) Slaybaugh of Butler, Indiana, Arthur (Becky) Slaybaugh of Auburn, Indiana, Joy DeWitt of Bryan, Ohio, Anita(Joe) Deetz of Stroh, Indiana, James (Teresa) Hickman of Montpelier, Ohio, Clorinda (Jeff) Meuhlfeld of Edon, Ohio; grandchildren, Jami, Halley (Adam) Anthony, Brittany, Darren, Kaye, Sierra, Brogan, Corey, Samantha, Heather, Tyson, Jannel, Kyle, Courtney, Becca, Belinda, Christian, Brandon, Amber, Brittany, Collette, Scott, Christopher, Matthew, Jacob, Christa; 41 great grandchildren; a brother, Ernie Beatty; two sisters, Leona (Eddie) Flores and Sandra Cantwell. Bill is preceded in death by a son, Scott Beatty; two great grandsons and two great granddaughters.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, services for Bill will be held privately. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street Hicksville, Ohio 43526.
