Darwin J. Wright, 77 years, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 in the emergency room at Defiance Regional Hospital, Defiance, Ohio.Darwin was born August 7, 1934 in Grant, Michigan the son of the late Clyde and Lucille (Clough) Wright.He was a 1952 graduate of Wayne High School, Wayne, Michigan.He married Mert A. Traxler on August 24, 1963, and the marriage ended in divorce.He then married Joy C. (Van Wagner) Taylor on September 23, 1983, and she survives.Darwin was a millwright for General Motors in Defiance retiring after 32 years of service.Darwin was an avid golfer and enjoyed getting out on the golf course with his friends.He also followed the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and the Michigan Wolverines.

Surviving is his wife, Joy C. Wright of Sherwood; five children, Vickie Romanuk of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, Linda (Jim) McNally of Lansing, Michigan, Randy (Lori) Wright of Dundee, Michigan, Jeffrey Wright of Defiance, Ohio and Sheila (Curtis) Doan of Cecil, Ohio; two stepchildren, Jeffrey (Carol) Taylor of Archbold, Ohio and Tammy (Danny) Stecher of Mark Center, Ohio; eight grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one step great-grandson; one brother, Mike (Phyllis) Wright of Grant, Michigan; two sisters, Gail (Louie) Gerencer of Elkhart, Indiana and Cheryl (Chuck) Hunter of Luther, Michigan.He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Steven, brother, Bill Wright and sister, Sharon Wright.

Memorial services for Darwin J. Wright will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012 in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood with Senior Minister, Pastor Bill Mesaeh of Defiance Christian Church, officiating.Relatives and friends will be received in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home two hours prior to the service on Saturday, beginning at 2:00 p.m. and continuing until the time of services at 4:00 p.m.
