Michael D. Collins, 57, of Bryan, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2004 in the Emergency Room at Community Hospitals and Wellness Center-Bryan.He was a coremaker at General Motors in Defiance for 31 years.Mr. Collins served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1971.He also belonged to the Avilla American Legion, the Bryan Eagles, the UAW, Auglaize Country Club and was an avid golfer. Mr. Collins was born February 28,1947 in Adrian, Michigan to Janet (Schubert) and Donald F. Collins.On September 21, 1985 he married Jennifer C. (Ball) in Bryan, Ohio and she survives. Also surviving Mike, in addition to his mother and wife, are two brothers, Terry (Denise) Collins of Bryan, and Richard Collins of Coward, S.C.; nephews, Matt and Andy Collins in Bryan, Chad Collins in Georgia and Steven Ball in California; nieces, Erica Ball in Columbus, Ohio, Susie Ball in California and Amanda Collins in Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Collins. Funeral services for Michael D. Collins will be Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home-Bryan with Sister Regina Smith of St. Patrick's Church officiating.Burial will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery-Bryan. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 2, 2004 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Gifts in loving memory of Michael D. Collins may be made to the American Heart Association.
