Obituary

Pearl Ester "Esther" Deepe, 96 years, of Bryan, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center, Bryan.She was under the tender care of CHWC Hospital Hospice.Pearl Ester Walsh was born January 14, 1916 in Bryan.She was the daughter of the late Phillip and Frieda (Zum Mallen) Walsh.Pearl Ester graduated with the class of 1935 from Ney High School.She married Harvey Deepe on October 14, 1934 in Angola, Indiana and he preceded her in death on October 20, 2000.She was a sales clerk for Uhlman's Department Store retiring in 1986.She had also worked for Spangler Candy Company and ARO Corp.Pearl Ester was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served on the Alter Guild for 20 years as well as being an active member of the Lutheran Church Women.She also was a member of Phi Beta Si Sorority and the Homemaker's Club.She enjoyed sewing, gardening and caring for her flowers.She brought others joy by playing the violin and the accordion.

Surviving are her two sons, Lamar Edward (Susan) Deepe of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Lavon Alan(Joan Lee Peake) Deepe of Morgantown, West Virginia; two grandsons, Jonathan (Megan) Deepe of Evanston, Wyoming and William Deepe of Denver, Colorado; two great-grandchildren, Bradyand Emma Deepe and her sister, Lorene Wieland of Defiance, Ohio.Several nieces and nephews also survive.She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey, brother, Clarence Walsh and sister Myrtle Daft.

Funeral services for Pearl Ester Deepe will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012 in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home-Greenisen Chapel, 225 East High Street, Bryan with Pastor Mary Beth Smith Gunn officiating.Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery, rural Bryan.Visitation for Pearl Ester Deepe will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
